"Million Miles" - Mirah

As some of you know that this Music Blogger was part of a Uni Project. I had to create a weblog on some trend or issue and I chose music. Now am not an expert on music or have some great extensive knowledge on all sorts of genres but I still have a great passion for it.
Yes, I sang in choirs for years and I miss it and wish I had the time to do that now but we all want things ...doesn't mean its going to happen.
But I still listen to music all the time, really at all times. Especially since I got my ipod, I just want to fill it till it explodes...well i dont want it to explode.
But music has really been a companion to me since I made my big move to London.
Anyways I have decided to keep my weblog alive, figuring that since I am so far from home that I could put up my daily musings in a quick post and my friends and family can see what's going on in the day and life of Alix. Dont worry I will refrain from refering to myself in the third person.
Ok back on to the topic at hand..I will also be sharing my favorite songs.
As you can see I have added a section called My Playlist, where some of my fave songs that are currently on repeat on my itunes library are available for download.
Please leave any suggestions you may have for me as well. I love to hear about new artists or even old artist but are new to me..
Just a little notes about the artists featured on my playlist :

The Perishers: Every song I have heard from them has instantly become a favorite and I highly reccommend purchasing their album. But I chose Pills for my list because even though its a song about fading love, its hauntinly moving. I have been listening to it non-stop.
Damien Rice: I am sure I don't have to go into how wonderful and poetic this man is. I have known about him for over a year and one of his songs is always on my list. Right now its this song.. It just pulls you in.
The Jealous Sound: I just found this band and I know they were a hit like two years ago but they are new to me . This song with the guitar and drums just hooks you. The leads singers voice is very different from what I heard before but my first instinct is like what but then I want to hear it over and over again.
Cursive: This song is almost 10 min long and its still not long enough. Its awesome. It says the same 8 lines over and over again but it grows with emotion and you can't help but connect with it.
Moving Units: I have two songs from them on my list and I could have easliy added more. The beats they created are electronic and rock and the fusing toghether of the two makes them unique and I love them. I know you will too.
Ray LaMongtagne: Now I heard about him from a music buddy of mine..Bekah, who had heard his "shelter" song on the show the O.C and when I was looking for that one, I found this one.. and I fell in love with his voice. He has some amazing songs but this one stands out for me right now.
Jonh Vanderslice: This songs tells a story of a young man and his family that won't let him go. Now I cant really identify with that, I dont want to run from my family, but his voice is clean strong and crisp and I really really like it.
The Arcade Fire: I just adore this song. The lead singer has a childlike voice and its perfect for the words. I didn't get my drivers license till I was 21, so this could have been my anthem, even though the song is not really about that.
Maria Mena: Now this is the silliest love song I have ever heard. Its funny and I just adore it.
22-20's: This is a great rock song. You just want to turn this up, especially when your having a bad day. It about how tired your are of all the mess and man you just not gonna take it anymore.
Mirah: I have alot of her songs but this one has been on my playlist for awhile. Once you listen to it you will know why I like it.
